Mona Leckie is a specialist in the repair and restoration of cane and rush furniture. Items from a simple bedroom chair to the finest antique Bergiers suites have been given a new lease of life in her hands working with local skilled restorers and upholsterers. Please discuss the nature of the repair with Mona so that a quotation can be prepared.

Repairs to many items of furniture and design are possible. Past commissions have included, double caning, French blind hole work, medallion and sunrise patterns.

All rush used in chair work is of the highest quality. Old chairs using different styles of rushwork can be undertaken. As with cane repairs, rush chairs can be restored using local craftsmen.

Talks, Training and Demonstrations

Each year Mona Leckie gives talks and demonstrations of her craft to both local and national Groups and organisations. The talks cover the history and  development of basketry and are centred on her collection of baskets and their varied usage. From time to time formal courses of instruction in basketry or chair restoration are run at the workshop, which provides an opportunity to meet other beginners and spend a pleasant few days in the heart of the Norfolk countryside.

For further information or how to book a talk, please contact us.
